About Joost van Hunnik

Joost supports his clients with practical and creative advice when financial institutions or fintech companies seek to introduce financial products, services or business models. He has particular expertise in lending, covering the full spectrum from licensing processes and drafting product documentation to conducting legal proceedings. He has extensive experience with BNPL, consumer credit, SME financing, factoring, residential mortgages, buy-to-let and crowdfunding.

In addition, Joost specialises in structuring funding for credit and other assets through funds, debt instruments and mandates for investors. He frequently assists with the regulatory aspects of M&A transactions, including due diligence, transaction documentation and obtaining approvals from supervisory authorities.

Joost previously worked as a lawyer at NautaDutilh (Financial Services and M&A) and as General Counsel and member of the management board of Dynamic Credit. As a non-executive director of a Dublin-based alternative investment fund, he was responsible for investment management and regulatory compliance. Since 2020, he has been a partner at FG Lawyers and, as of 2026, at LYND Advocaten.

Joost regularly publishes on financial law, including in Rechtspraak Financieel Recht. He is a member of the Dutch Association for Financial Law and is registered in the practice area register of the Dutch Bar Association for Financial Law.
